Introduction

Nearly all the orders I receive are for ‘specials’ , that is individual commissions for pets , holidays, names, anniversaries etc., so this leaflet is really intended as a guide to prices and  range. Almost anything is possible! The only limitation is the shape and surface area of the bobbins, so please ring or email for details. I have also included here some of the most popular subjects I have offered recently at lace days and fairs…Christmas favourites, animals, insects and flowers etc and  commemoratives that mark the festive year.

The bobbins I use are specially turned for me by Acorn Bobbins (bone/ebony); Stuart Johnson (bone); Graham Hudson (wood). Please ring or email for details of the various styles .  Midland and Honiton bobbins are available, Continental by request.

The designs are first drawn in pencil and then painted using gouache/ artists water colours. They are then sealed with several coats of gloss or satin varnish. A bone or wood bead for the base of the spangle can be supplied to match or the bobbin and can be fully spangled in appropriate colours if you wish. Individual painted wooden beads may also be ordered in various sizes…please ask for details. When ordering ‘specials’ please enclose good quality colour photographs of your pets etc and also clearly printed inscriptions/names you want included. If photos are to be returned or an acknowledgement of your order, enclose a SAE.
 Some points to note

-    I regularly attend The National Lacemaker’s Fair at the NEC Birmingham, The Harrogate Lace Event, The Devon Lace Teachers Lace Fair and further lace days/fairs throughout the year.
-    I am happy to receive mail orders at anytime, however I can not accept large orders between September and December.
-    Please send cheque with order, payable to Janet Retter, unless a prior arrangement has been made. Overseas orders in pound sterling i.e. bank draft or eurocheques. Please ask about electronic payment by Paypal.
-     Unfortunately I can not accept Visa/Switch payment at the present time.
